Since the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, several businesses are shut down and temporarily closed. A few companies are providing food to the needy and are extending a helping hand. An initiative by a vegan company named Eclipse Foods has created icecream packages to send to frontline heroes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based in San Francisco, the company is asking locals to share about people who have gone the extra mile to help people during this outbreak. The company is then selecting ten people every week and giving them a free ice cream package.
The Head of Marketing at Eclipse Foods said,
“We’re inspired by ordinary people stepping up to do extraordinary things for others in a time of great need.”
He further added,
“We were hearing more and more stories about people going above and beyond to help friends, family, and complete strangers in their communities—truly inspiring stories of bravery and generosity. You can really feel how much these nominees mean to them and how appreciative they are. It’s quite moving.”
Eclipse Foods claims to be the first to make plant-based icecream. The program aims to celebrate and to promote people’s stories on social media who are helping and caring for others in these critical times. Their team has already sent icecream packages to nurses and doctors working in the hospitals.
The company has received many submissions and has planned to extend this program till June 1. Laura Cox, the Head, said-
“You can really feel how much these nominees mean to them and how appreciative they are. It’s quite moving.”
Several businesses are restrategizing their services and products and are looking for ways to give back to those who are in need. For instance, Daily Harvest has donated thousands of smoothies and bowls to healthcare professionals. It has also partnered with Neil Patrick Harris to host a bingo night and to give flatbreads to the winners.
Obagi is producing hand sanitizer for their employees, customers, and for healthcare professionals. It is donating hand sanitizer to emergency centers in 2.oz and 8.oz bottles.
Indeed! The vegan industry would make a strong impact in the coming years. The demand for plant-based products is increasing day by day. Also, millions of people are becoming vegan and urging to stop animal cruelty.
Not only this, but the coronavirus pandemic has also encouraged people to turn into a vegan. This could be the major reason why people are making more vegan recipes.
Vegetarian is not just a type of diet, but more of a lifestyle. It’s a healthier choice you make for the people, for the animals, and for a better planet
