It is not surprising to hear that veganism offers incredible health benefits to everyone. According to reports, those who eat vegan foods are happier in comparison to those who eat animal products like meat.
A report from Tracking Happiness surveyed over 11000 Americans to find the relationship between mood and diet. The team asked participants to rank their happiness from 0 to 10. They found that people who consume vegans reported a 7% higher happiness level than meat-eaters.
Vice President of International Programmes at PETA, Mimi Bekhechi, said-
“It’s no wonder vegans are happier - by sparing animals atrocious suffering, helping to save the planet, and improving their own health, vegans can enjoy peace of mind and a clean conscience.”
He added,
“If you want to join the happy v-gang, you’re in luck: Going vegan has never been easier or tastier.”
The reports found that animal products relate to overall well-being and showed how people have been prioritizing their health and environment in recent years. The majority of people, especially in the US, have shifted their diets to vegan and excluded animal products.
Another survey by Morning Consult for Bloomberg News found that nearly 35% of Americans are putting their best efforts into eating less meat. Plant-based diets show the changing concern of American consumers. Americans’ interest in veganism is rising and is promoting veganism.
A spokesperson for the Vegan Society, Francine Jordan, said,
“We know that the image of veganism is undergoing the most radical change in its history while shedding some tired, old stereotypes. It’s no longer portrayed as an unusual lifestyle, it’s easy and accessible. You can walk into any supermarket and be greeted by a huge range of plant-based products; or walk into any restaurant and be presented with an exciting vegan menu. There has never been a better time to be vegan and it’s great to see that vegans are much happier too!”
Americans feel that consuming vegan food helps their wellness and also presents a better option to support environmental health. With more people switching their diets, it can be believed that veganism would make a strong impact on the food industry.
Vegetarian is not just a type of diet, but more of a lifestyle. It’s a healthier choice you make for the people, for the animals, and for a better planet
