Why & How is Plant Protein Better Than Animal Protein? Know Here

Which protein is better- animal or plant- is a debatable topic. When you choose to eat plant-based food, everyone asks you- from where did you get protein? Not everyone knows that a plant-based diet is full of protein. It includes foods like legumes, chickpeas, and other vegetables that are rich in vitamins and minerals.

You would be amazed to know that 1/4th cup of pistachio provides over 6 grams of protein. Furthermore, not only animal-based diets help build muscles; in fact, a plant-based diet also strengthens bones.

People Who Eat Plant-Based Foods Live Longer

Studies show that those who eat plant-based foods and avoid animal products are leaner, live longer, and have less risk of severe diseases. It is recommended to eat plant-based foods if you want to be more energetic and healthier.

A new study reveals that a high intake of protein from plants lowers the risk of diabetes, maintains blood pressure, and reduces obesity problems. Experts share that your body needs nine types of amino acids from the food that you eat. Out of 20 amino acids, your body can make 11 of them.

Foods like broccoli, pumpkins, almonds, and more contain amino acids. It is recommended that women should eat 45-60 grams of protein per day, whereas men consume 55-80 grams per day. However, daily consumption depends on weight and body. Plant-based protein foods might contain lower quality protein; therefore, you should eat varieties of vegan food to get amino acids. Amino acids are the main source of protein. The body needs amino acids at different times.

Eating protein-rich foods improves a person's overall health. In 2016, it was published that eating more animal protein increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. The results also showed that consuming plant protein foods reduces the risk of several diseases. Some reports reveal that other than plant-protein, rice protein offers benefits like whey protein.

Consuming Animal Protein Might Result in Higher Circulating Levels of TMAO

It is believed that consuming animal protein gives higher circulating levels of Trimethylamine N-Oxide. It is a substance that creates inflammation and forms the cholesterol plaques in the blood vessels. It is problematic for cardiovascular health.

Animal protein contains phosphorus, and consuming high amounts of it can cause muscles and bone problems. It also contains cholesterol and saturated fat, which can be problematic for health. So, it is clear that if you want to live longer and prevent diseases, then eat plant-based foods.

Concluding Thoughts

Eat plant-based products to build lean muscles and to become healthier. Add more plant food to your regular diet plant for better health results.

It is advised not to focus on a single protein source and to consider varieties of protein sources for quick and better health results.
