5 Vegetarian Foods That Help in Relieving the Problem of Arthritis

A vegetarian diet or a diet having low saturated fats and sugar has successfully treated several diseases. It also lowers the risk of obesity and severe cardiovascular diseases. Although it is known that there is no diet plan to cure arthritis, several vegetarian foods may help ease the symptoms of arthritis.

2. Onions and Garlic

Onions and Garlic contain quercetin, an antioxidant that reduces inflammation, relieves allergy symptoms, prevents infections, and lowers high blood pressure. Garlic contains sulfur compounds and is useful in treating arthritis and inflammation.

To eat onion and garlic in different tastes, add them in soups, sauces, salads, and sandwiches.

3. Spinach

Spinach is a dark leafy green vegetable rich in vitamin K that helps with the inflammation caused by RA. The calcium and other vitamins in spinach strengthen the bones and also fights against cancers. It also helps to lower damaging protein levels and prevents heart diseases.

4. Broccoli

This green food comes loaded with vitamin K, calcium, vitamin C, and other minerals. It contains compound sulforaphane that blocks the inflammatory process and slows down cartilage damage in osteoarthritis. Also, it is reported that the foods high in Sulforaphane prevent RA from developing.

5. Green and Red Bell Peppers

Be it a red, green, or yellow pepper, any of the pepper used in meals is a great source of Vitamin C, which protects cells in cartilage. A half-cup of red pepper can full your stomach for a long time.

According to the study, pepper has a sharp taste and prevents inflammation. It also supports healthy night vision and comes packed with antioxidants that prevent several cancers.
